EMI's Top Clamp (TC) series of horizontally parted cold process machines display a distinct advantage over conventional core machines. Our research and design efforts have created a hydraulically operated, continuous core box clamp system that is most effective in supplying cores with consistent dimensional accuracy and uniform density. The TC process helps eliminate parting line flashing that is common to cope and drag separation during the machine cycle.
EMI's TC system keeps the cope and drag box hydraulically clamped from blow through the gas cure cycle. This is achieved by combining a pair of cope cylinders acting against the drag table cylinder to assure a positive clamping force throughout the described cycles. The clamp system is external to the tooling, which allows the cope to move independently of the drag, yielding the opportunity for an effective tamping or cope eject feature. This external clamp system also helps reduce time required for automated qbuick change tooling loading and removal. With the many variables involved in core production, any advantage in equipment reliability can improve a core blowing environment. In this quality-driven industry, we feel our TC series horizontal machines can give our customers a competitive advantage.
